Questions about this tool

How should I digitise the print?

A flatbed scan at 300 dpi or more is ideal. A phone picture also works: lay the print flat, avoid reflections and shadows, and fill the frame.

Are the colours historically accurate?

Colourisation proposes plausible colours based on the content. For known elements such as uniforms or cars, treat the result as an interpretation rather than a record.

Can it recover a torn part?

Small missing areas are reconstructed from their surroundings. Large missing parts, such as half a face, cannot be reliably reconstructed.
